Bob Marley is one of my all time heros, to me he is my one of the Greatest musicians alive ( er well dead Now accually haha). Bob Marley, a master mind in reggae music, made me fall in-love with music, over and over again. His lyrics are simple yet strong, they make sense if you take the time to listen. sure he was a stoner, and yeah he died, but his music will never die. It will always be remembered for years from now, maybe 50 years from now or 70 or even 100 but it will be remembered.
Bob died on May 11, 1981 at a young age of 36 from malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of skin disease.
Bob had injured his toe during a soccer game. Being all green and down to earth, he refused to go to the hospital for treatment. The injured toe got infected and turned into cancer, the lesion starting on his toe had spread through his whole body, causing melanoma disease. When he finally went to treatment in a last attemp to save his life, it was to late. He was bound to die.
His last words were to his Son Ziggy Marley, he said to Ziggy, " money can't buy life" and what he ment was for Ziggy not to get caught up in fame and fortune, live life, accually live it.
Ziggy is now a reggea singer like his father was. Bob also had 9 other kids.
Sharon Marley, she is a melody maker. Also the eldest.
Cedella Marley, also a melody maker and still makes music today. Mother of 3.
